BURIED IN ANOTHER'S DIRT

The sky is drunk with melancholy again,
Pouring its bitter sorrow through my veins.
Which god could be weeping over me, I wonder?
What fate have I awakened to such anger?
I pray only for storms,
I long only for thunder.
An empty path stretches into the distance.
The mist is thin, yet stubbornl it remains.
There are no footprints left to retrace,
No lack of faith to keep me still,
Yet I cannot take another step.
I tremble,
My hollow hands clenched tight.
Thoughts are slowly becoming words,
And words, in time, become swords.
Unchallenged, unclaimed, enthroned,
They lie dormant deep within the stone.
There is no victory.
There is no defeat.
Only loneliness.
My jealous friend, my faithful guide,
Promise you'll lead me to the end of the line.
My hungry eyes keep searching for the light,
Too blind, too meek to even realise
That where all things endIs where all things begin.
As the soul endures,
The pain awakens
Something ancient from within—
Something you never wished to find.
Yet here I remain,
Far away,
Dwelling on the outskirts of the mind.
Between Chaos and Harmony,
I am but the shadow of a man.
Between Life and Death,
I am but the shadow of a woman.
Between Earth and Heaven,
I am but the shadow of a child.
I am but a coffin,
Buried in another's dirt.
